Year 9 art
FUNKY SHOES
Pupils will draw real shoes from direct observation using watercolour to apply colour/texture/pattern
Pupils will design their ownn funky shoe - we will look at the designs of Manolo Blahnik. They will use several mixed media effects to colour, decorate and embellish their shoes.
Pupils will make small scale sculptures of their funky shoes using clay. Colour and decoration wil be added using slips.
MANGA
Pupils will study Manga (Japanese Comics) and they will work in sketchbooks to become familiar with the distinct style of this art - learning how to draw male/female characters, landscapes and vehicles.
They will produce a final composition using a mix of materials but a limited colour palette black/white/grey and red.
Pupils will study the work of the comic artist Frank Miller and will produce sketchbook studies using polystyrene tiles inspired by his artwork.
ALL AT SEA
Range of studies produced in sketchbooks from direct observation and secondary sources in a range of media/techniques.
Fantasy fish sculptures made out of wire and tissue paper.
