FACILITIES

Kingshill School, situated on the eastern edge of Cirencester, is very fortunate in having a modern, well equipped building with extensive playing fields. The "green field" site provides a safe and secure environment for pupils.

The school has benefited from an extensive construction programme that has been in seven phases.  This has resulted in new facilities for Modern Languages, P.E., Maths, ICT, Design and Technology, Expressive Arts suite, brand new SEN suite, completely refurbished Science labs and the construction of 2 new canopies for recreational use at the back of the school.

Since 1993 well over £3 million have been spent on new or improved accommodation.

These developments have not only improved the school environment but have more than kept pace with the growing popularity  of the school.

Kingshill has an extensive open plan Library.  It has a Sound Studio and Drama Theatre; two Music rooms and practice areas; a large gymnasium, sports hall and new changing rooms.  As well as specialist accommodation, the building has many carpeted and well maintained classrooms for such subjects as Maths, English, and Humanities.  In addition, there are two specialist rooms for learning support.

There are many “social” areas  for pupils including a large indoor concourse.

Outside, the grounds are well maintained and have been landscaped, mainly by pupil ventures including several tree planting projects.

Pupils have access to the extensive field area (subject to the weather!) and the school has an artificial cricket square, cricket practice nets, five excellent tennis courts and a hard play area with outdoor basketball stands.

Kingshill has facilities for disabled pupils, including a wheelchair lift, disabled toilet, ramped access to the building and several automatic doors.

Kingshill has a policy of encouraging community use of its buildings and facilities and is well placed for future recreational developments.  A 35 acre site adjacent to the school opened in 2002 by the Town Council and will eventually provide 5 soccer pitches, and other playing areas for community use.

The school plays host to a variety of local clubs including Cirencester Gym Club, Cirencester Netball Club, Cirencester Athletics Club, Lions Club Sports' Coaching Weekends and Cirencester Badminton Club.
