INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY - Year 8
In Year 8, students receive the equivalent of two lessons each week of ICT during which the aim is to deliver the majority of material outlined in the government’s Key Stage 3 ICT Strategy. Some of the ICT is delivered via Design & Technology lessons that cover computer graphics and computer control. In these lessons students spend a significant portion of time learning how to set-up and implement computer controlled devices, and also how to use 2D and 3D drawing packages. In the ICT lessons, students extend their experiences of working with the important software packages seen in Year 7. In addition, they get to work with new software such as Desk Top Publishing.
Throughout KS3 students encounter and use ICT in all subject areas.
