INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY - YEAR 9
Students receive one lesson each week of ICT during which they mostly work on an involved piece of project work, which is based around key topic areas of the national Key Stage 3 ICT Strategy. They revisit key themes from earlier years, but also encounter new aspects of ICT such as project management, mail-merging and databases. The objective of this project is to expose students to more complex IT problems that involve integrated solutions; also, it is to prepare students for the style and demands of controlled assessment that they will experience at GCSE level.
Throughout KS3 students encounter and use ICT in all subject areas.
