All pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 follow a course based on the National Curriculum requirements for music. Pupils may opt to continue to GCSE level. Pupils are involved in a wide range of practical activities, music composition and listening skills which are taught in a purpose built area well resourced with percussion, keyboards, a recording studio and 15 computers which use CV base software.
One hundred and fifty pupils learn an instrument at Kingshill. Tuition is provided by our team of specialists in the following areas: upper and lower strings, wood wind, brass, piano, drumming, guitar and singing. Pupils are encouraged to take part in ensemble groups and further music activities that take place after school. There are concerts at the end of each term.
