NEWSLETTER - February 2007
Dear Parent,
The glossy newsletter highlighting our successes this term will be coming out before Easter. This interim newsletter is to bring a few information items to your attention. We are very pleased to welcome back this term Mrs Ruth Vine, Head of Art, and Mrs Natalie McAvoy who teaches English; both are returning from maternity leave. Thank you to all parents who have returned their voting forms regarding the proposed change to the school day for September 2007. If you have not returned your vote the closing date is Friday 16th February. I will inform you next term of the decision. This term we have started two more extra-curricular activities for the gifted and talented pupils - these are GCSE Statistics for Year 10 pupils and Latin for Years 8 & 9 pupils. Any pupil interested in joining these classes should contact Mr Thomas, Deputy Head.
I hope you will enjoy the half term break. School starts back on Monday 26th February.

Health and Welfare
Please remember to keep us updated with changes of telephone/mobile numbers, workplaces etc. We need to be able to contact you if your son/daughter is unwell or has an accident. Please be aware that we are not health professionals and we will refer to you if we are in any way unsure.
Lost Property
Please, please, please……….
LABEL all clothing/equipment! Any lost property that is labelled is duly returned to its owner. Sadly, huge quantities of unnamed items never get reclaimed. What a waste of parents’ good money!
£843 sent to local homeless charity
Our non-uniform day in December and the proceeds from the highly successful “X-Factor” competition enabled us to send a cheque for £843.85 to CHYP – Cirencester Housing for Young People. School Council felt it was a worthy charity to support, especially around Christmas time. We have since received a letter from CHYP expressing their gratitude for our donation.
